Massachusetts and its cities need to create scale up shared use facilities leveraging existing built assets. An appreciation exists from brilliant ideas coming out of world class universities, but no follow through to job creation in multiple industries. Bio and medical related businesses have done exceedingly well in the Boston / Cambridge area, but what about the rest of the state? Innovation centers can be industry or functionally focused to take the ideas from incubators and scale up to revenues and jobs. There are plenty of opportunities for businesses in Mass., but a state wide and coordinated approach is lacking. Unfortunately, the ideas, brilliant minds, and JOBS are lost to California, New York and other areas.
