Tenant Spotlight: Neuragain, The Nation’s Largest Network of Providers of Infusion-Based Ketamine Th

Who are you?

I am Henrik Sandell, partner and CEO of Neuragain.

What is your business?

Neuragain facilitates access to the highest quality medical treatment for mood disorders: low dose IV ketamine infusions. We are growing a national network of psychiatrists who provide safe and effective therapies for treatment-resistant depression and anxiety disorders, seamlessly integrating patient-pay treatments into their practices.

Neuragain provides patient-centric practice support to ensure the highest standards of personalized care. Patients are educated and supported as they explore the benefits of ketamine therapy, prepare for their first infusion, schedule subsequent infusions, and decide on aftercare options.

Is there a story behind your business?

Health care choices are heavily impacted by insurance reimbursement decisions and pharmaceutical profit motives, instead of by what is best for the patient. When IV ketamine emerged as a superior treatment for mood disorders some ten years ago, many psychiatrists found themselves unprepared to deal with the challenges involved. Neuragain was founded to help psychiatrists through those challenges, in order to offer local IV ketamine infusions to patients across the country.

What problem(s) are you/your business trying to help solve? Our mission is to support psychiatrists in relieving suffering for a large patient population that has not found relief from medications, or even from electroconvulsive therapy. After treatment with IV ketamine infusions from one of the psychiatrists in our network, at least 80% of patients experience significant relief.

How is your company changing the world?

One patient at a time, we are bringing hope to people who often have given up on ever feeling better. Bipolar disorder leads to suicide in 15% of patients. IV ketamine treatment is one of very few therapies with effective and rapid relief of thoughts of self-harm. Prescription drugs for depression and anxiety have significant side effects, and often lose effectiveness over time. Low dose IV ketamine results in no known long-term side effects.

What’s cool about your team?

We are a true partnership, working together with a high degree of trust and commitment to a truly meaningful mission.

What advice do you have for other small businesses?

We don’t really think of ourselves that way. We are a growing business with a nationwide network, yet able to engage one on one with patients everywhere.
